UDL industrial design team has redefined the packaging design language for the renowned Chinese skincare brand GUYU,  extending it across the entire product range. GUYU is a plant-based skincare brand targeting Asian skin types. In this design upgrade, we introduced "Oriental Vessels" as the core design concept. Different from the conventional expression of Chinoiserie that focuses solely on appearance, we have incorporated the interactive experience of traditional vessels into the design, aiming for a more profound expression of Oriental spirit and temperament.

Our innovative "invisible thread" structure offers a visually sleek and elegant alternative to conventional threaded designs. Traditional threaded skincare bottles not only appear visually complex but are also prone to accumulate grease and dust, making cleaning arduous. To address this issue, we have designed an innovative triangular bottle mouth shape that interacts with tracks on the inner side of the bottle cap, ensuring a sleeker, more elegant design and evoking a sense of traditional vessels.

For essence toner packaging, we have designed a refined inner seal, eliminating the need to remove an outer cap during daily skincare routines. This not only enhances user interaction with an elegant Oriental aesthetic but also boosts convenience and usability.

In terms of product appearance, while creating a form with oriental temperament, we have maintained GUYU's simple, modern, and functional design language and the core visual symbol of the "Wooden lid" for cohesive brand identity.

Crafted primarily from frosted semi-transparent glass, the series of bottles conveys poetic imagery and offers users a high-level gripping experience, aligning with the brand's environmentally friendly and sustainable ethos.
